Song 8: “I Notice You Pt. 8 (Come Back Home)” — Synopsis

Synopsis:

“Come Back Home” shifts the story back to Mya — alone again, but this time by choice and consequence.

With Dontay gone, the silence sets in. The same presence that once felt overwhelming is now what she misses the most. The space he filled in her life becomes impossible to ignore.

Despite everything that happened, Mya can’t let go. She begins to question the narrative around him, replaying moments and emotions that felt real to her. What others see as wrong, she remembers as something deeper.

Her feelings evolve from confusion to determination.
She doesn’t just miss him — she wants him back.

This track captures her emotional turning point —
where love overrides logic, and she makes a decision to bring Dontay home… no matter what it takes.

“I Notice You Pt. 8 (Come Back Home)” – Lyrics

Hook (Mya)
I still feel you… in the quiet nights…
Empty space where you used to lie…
They say move on… but I don’t know how…
’Cause my heart still chose you somehow…

I still need you… even after all…
Even after everything that fall…
If this love wrong… then I don’t care…
I just want you back right here…

Verse 1 (Mya)
I keep your hoodie on my side of the bed,
Still smell you every time I lay my head…
They say I’m crazy for holdin’ on,
But they don’t know what we was on…

I see your face when I close my eyes,
Hear your voice in the late night silence…
I tried to hate you, I tried to run,
But I keep goin’ back to us…

Everybody say you wasn’t right,
But you held me down in a different light…
I ain’t felt that with nobody else…
Even when I try, I just feel myself…

Hook (Mya)
I still feel you… in the quiet nights…
Empty space where you used to lie…
They say move on… but I don’t know how…
’Cause my heart still chose you somehow…

Verse 2 (Mya)
I been drivin’ past the same old street,
Thinkin’ ’bout the night they took you from me…
Blue lights flashin’ in my memory,
Still don’t sit right what they did to you…

They say “leave him,” he ain’t worth your time,
But they ain’t see what I felt inside…
Yeah, you had your ways, you crossed some lines,
But you never left me when it got dark in my mind…

I read your letters, I hear your pain,
Tryna stay strong but it ain’t the same…
If love still live, I can’t let it die…
I been thinkin’ ’bout it every night…

I gotta find a way to get you back home…
Get you out that place… you don’t belong…

Bridge (Mya)
If it’s wrong… why it feel so right?
Why I miss you every night?

They don’t know… what we been through…
They don’t feel… what I feel for you…

I’ll wait… I’ll fight…
I won’t let you fade out my life…

Final Hook (Mya)
I still feel you… in the quiet nights…
Empty space where you used to lie…
They say move on… but I don’t know how…
’Cause my heart still chose you somehow…

I still need you… even after all…
Even after everything that fall…
If this love wrong… then I don’t care…
I just want you back right here…

Outro (Mya)
Yeah…
They can judge me…
They don’t know my heart…

I’m bringin’ you home…
somehow…

The lyrics really hit home; I felt every word with Dontay’s soulful voice.

Ezric’s production shines; the melody stays with me all day.
